The short version
- You don't need an account, and we don't ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Your game progress is saved only on your phone. We never receive it.
- The game sends us anonymous gameplay statistics (for example how often a partner's building was on screen), linked to a random install number, never to you.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob, which uses your device's advertising ID. You can limit or reset this in your phone's settings.
- Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your payment details.
- Reminder notifications are scheduled on your phone and can be switched off at any time.
1. Who we are
Sho't Left ("the game") is published by Diginet ZA ("we", "us"), South Africa. For anything to do with privacy, contact us at joel@diginetagency.com.
This policy explains what information is processed when you play the game on Android, why, and the choices you have. It is written to meet South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where it applies, and Google Play's requirements.
2. Information we do not collect
There are no player accounts, no chat, and no location tracking by the game. We do not ask for or receive your name, email address, phone number, contacts or photos.
2a. Brand partners and anonymous gameplay statistics
Some buildings, billboards, taxi stops, fuel stations and the in-game radio station carry the names and logos of brand partners. When the game starts it downloads the current city content (partners, their logos and city artwork) from our server and keeps it on your phone, so it can change without an app update and still works offline.
To report to partners how often their brand was seen, the game counts, per day and per partner placement: how many times it came onto the screen, for how many seconds, and how many drop-offs or refuels happened there. It also counts how many shifts were played and for how long. These counts are sent to our server together with a random install number that the game creates on your phone, so that one player isn't counted twice on the same day. The install number is not your advertising ID or any other device identifier, it is not linked to your name or Google account, and it is never shared with partners. Partners only see totals, such as "seen 5,000 times by 1,200 players this week".
Our server is hosted by Supabase, Inc. (our service provider), and data is encrypted in transit. The install number is reset if you clear the app's storage or reinstall the game.
3. Information stored on your phone
Your progress is saved in the game's private storage on your device and is never sent to us. This includes stars, in-game money, garage items, settings (sound, music, reminders), daily-shift streaks and whether you have bought "Remove ads". Uninstalling the game deletes this data.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game is free and is supported by ads served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process:
- your device's advertising ID and other device identifiers;
- device and app information (for example model, operating system, language, app version);
- your IP address, which can be used to estimate a general location (for example your country);
- ad interactions (for example which ads were shown, watched or tapped), and diagnostic information.
This information is collected and processed by Google, not by us, under Google's Privacy Policy. You can read how Google uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Your choices
- Personalised ads: on Android go to Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads) to reset or delete your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: the game shows Google's consent form the first time it runs, and you can change your choice later from the "Ad privacy settings" option in the game's Garage.
- Remove ads: a one-time purchase removes ads that play between shifts. Optional "watch a video for a reward" ads remain available but are never required.
5. Purchases (Google Play)
In-app purchases ("Remove ads" and the "Starter pack") are processed by Google Play. Google handles your payment details under its own terms and privacy policy; we never receive your card or bank information. The game only receives confirmation from Google Play that a purchase was made, so it can unlock the item on your device.
6. Notifications
If you allow it, the game schedules reminder notifications (for example "Today's daily shift is waiting") on your phone, based on your progress stored on the phone. No information is sent to us to do this. You can turn reminders off in the game (on the home screen) or in your phone's notification settings.
7. Sharing
If you tap "Share result", the game opens your phone's share menu with a short text message (for example your daily-shift stars). Nothing is shared unless you choose an app and send it yourself.
8. Summary of services that process data

9. Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, contact us and we will help you remove it.
10. Data retention and security
Daily gameplay totals are kept for as long as we report to partners. The link between an install number and a day's counts is deleted after 13 months. Data on your device stays until you uninstall the game. Information processed by Google is kept according to Google's own retention policies. All traffic is encrypted in transit.
11. Your rights
Under POPIA and, where applicable, GDPR, you have the right to ask what personal information is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to processing. Because the statistics we hold are anonymous, the simplest way to stop them is to clear the game's storage, which gives you a new install number; advertising and purchase requests are best handled through Google or your device settings. You are always welcome to contact us at joel@diginetagency.com and we will help. In South Africa you may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
12. Changes to this policy
If the game starts using new services that process information (for example analytics or crash reporting), we will update this page before that version is released and change the effective date above.
13. Website and partner dashboard
If you send an enquiry through the Partners page on our website, we keep the details you give us (name, company, email, phone and message) to reply to you, and delete them when you ask. Partners who sign in to the partner dashboard do so with their work email address, which we use only to sign them in.
